Space Between the Bullet and the Text (PowerPoint 2007)

Have you ever noticed that, by default, there is no space between the bullet and the line of text you type when you create a list item? You probably hit the spacebar once or twice to separate them, but doing so does not make your list stands out as a bulleted item. Furthermore, it is inefficient to repeatedly hit the spacebar for a list item with 10 or more bullets.

Here’s a more efficient way of creating the space between the bullet and the text:

1.  Place your cursor in between the first bullet and the first word of the text.

2.  At the horizontal Ruler, drag the Hanging Indent marker to the desired position. This will distance the text from the bullet.

Note: Click precisely on the Hanging Indent marker, i.e., at the tip or body of the marker, before you begin dragging. If you click on the rectangular bottom of the marker, you will drag the position of the bullet and text together.

3.   After you have dragged the marker to the desired position, the space between the bullet and text is more noticeable now.

4.  To repeat the same effect on the remaining lines of text, choose either one of the options below:

Option 1

a.  Highlight all the remaining text.

b.  Then drag the Hanging Indent marker to the same position as the first one.
