Let’s try something fun with creating a mouse over effect. When you hover over a button, the button will appear to be popped out, and when you do not hover over that button, it will return to its original state. Also, when you hover over a button and click it, it will jump to another slide. In this tutorial, we’ll use the Submit button as an example.
1. In the first slide, we’ll create a rounded rectangular button. On the Insert tab, in the Illustration group, click the Rectangle: Rounded Corners shape.

2. Draw the rectangle shape, something like this:

3. Type the word SUBMIT. Make it center- and middle-aligned. Increase the font size to 40pt.

4. Right-click the first slide on the right pane and click Duplicate Slide.

5. So, this duplicated slide becomes the second slide. Click the button. Then, on the Shape Format tab, in the Shape Styles group, click Shape Effects and select a Shadow.

6. While the button is still being selected, on the Shape Format tab, in the Shape Styles group, click Shape Fill and select Dark Red to change the background colour of the button.

7. Similarly, change the colour of the outline to Dark Red.

8. Now, you have a button that looks like this in the second slide.

9. Move the button a little to the upper-right from its original position.

10. Create a third slide with the text “Feedback submitted!” This is the slide that you want to go to when you hover over the Submit button and click it.

11. In the first slide, click the button. Then, on the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Action.

12. In the Action Settings pop-up, click Mouse Over tab and select Hyperlink to:. Choose Next Slide. Click OK.

13. In the second slide, draw a large rectangle over the button. When you hover your mouse away from the button, it will fall into this large rectangle and goes back to the first slide.

14. Change the rectangle outline to No Outline so that it is invisible.

15. Right-click the invisible rectangle and click Send to Back.

16. While the invisible rectangle is still being selected, on the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Action. In the Action Settings pop-up, click Mouse Over tab and select Hyperlink to:. Choose Previous Slide. Click OK.

17. Click the Submit button (still in the second slide). On the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Action. In the Action Settings pop-up, click Mouse Click tab and select Hyperlink to:. Choose Next Slide. Click OK.

18. And nowwwww for the grand finale, run this PowerPoint in Show Mode and voila!
